Buy Vertical Blinds to Change the Atmosphere of Your Room
Too many choices can be as troublesome as too little. Yes, we are talking about window blinds. In the last few years the blinds industry has undergone enormous expansion, and thus there is every type of window blinds available at the leading blinds store. While some people are drawn away by the attractive looks of the wooden blinds, other utility oriented people like the roller shades. In this rush for supremacy vertical blinds silently go about catering good services to the rooms they are installed in. In order to buy wooden blinds you have to shell out a lump sum from your pockets, why not try the vertical blinds which are equally effective in doing the basic jobs. One of the prime benefits of using the vertical blinds is their ease of use. They have easy to operate slats that can be adjusted ideally even by the kids. It requires no rocket science to understand the mechanism of the vertical blinds.

Real Solutions to the Energy and Climate Crises
Article by Chris Nelder
Investing in an Empire of Illusion
As my regular readers know, I've spent much of this year contemplating big themes, like the long-term picture for energy, energy and monetary policy, black swans and the human penchant for valuing the present more than the future, the problems of complex systems like the energy-food-water nexus, sustainability, and the relationship between climate change and peak oil.
As this year draws to a close and I review my work, the biggest question that emerges is about why it is so incredibly difficult to reach people on these subjects.
It's more than the usual culprits. Yes, the corporate media and the ad-supported business model are problems - like when I was called a "peak freak" on television and given no opportunity to respond to my opponent's disinformation.

Our Planet Is Changing Are We Doing Our Part?
Article by Six Figure Freelancer
Thousands and thousands of years ago, no one would have ever imagined where we would be today. In our day and age, we have ice caps melting, we are running extremely low on oil, and we have an ever expanding list of endangered and extinct animals. Something needs to stop before we wipe out.
Is Global Warming Real?
There are many who try to refute the fact that global warming is indeed occurring. If you don't believe it, just take a trip up to our polar circle. The studies and numbers all show that we are in major trouble. Our CO2 (carbon dioxide) concentrations are increasing. Our carbon output has increased from 280 parts per million before industrialization to 382 ppm in 2006. Methane is on the rise also. Methane levels are a whopping 148% higher than pre-industrial times. I don't know about you, but that scares me to death! We cannot breathe carbon dioxide or methane.

Global Warming Science
Article by Jon Flatley
The latest in global warming science, global warming information, and strategies for reducing global warming are presented.
This article was adapted from my website (link below). I present the latest global warming information by summarizing major points from the latest book of one of the most well-respected climate scientists in the world, James Hansen of NASA. His book, "Storms of my Grandchildren" tackles the complex subject of global warming science with a blend of science, policy recommendations, politics encountered, and some personal experiences in his crusade to educate and inform. I will also fill-in some additional information from various sources. The earth is warming and this is supported by numerous observations and studies by climate scientists, and even verified by some studies financed by global warming skeptics, such as the BEST study.
This past century average global temperatures have risen 0.8 C (1.4 F) and 0.6 C (1.1 Click to continue

Antarctic Cruises
If you are looking for a cruise that is a bit more unusual rather than the typical Caribbean or Mediterranean cruise, plus a destination that's a bit off the beaten path, consider Antarctic cruises.
Even though Antarctica is not the easiest place to get to, more and more people are visiting every year and their visits are often via expeditionary cruises.
There are about 20 ships that carry from 45 to 280 people each that are responsible for most of these Antarctica cruises. The ships are ice breakers, meaning they are specially equipped for expeditions through polar waters, mostly to the area of the Antarctic Peninsula. The cruises take place mainly in the ice-free zones of the Antarctic Coast during the warmer summer months, which are November through March.
At the peak of the summer there are 20 hours of daylight in this region.
During the summers here the high temperatures average 50 degrees F or 10 degrees C. In November and early December the ice Click to continue
